Who Can Open an FNBA Certificate of Deposit?

New and Existing Customers

FNBA CDs are open to new and existing personal banking customers. No prior relationship with FNBA is required to open a CD.

Minimum Opening Deposit

A banker will confirm the current minimum when you call or visit.

Account Ownership Types

Individual, joint, and custodial ownership available. Ask a banker at any South Jersey branch for additional information.

IRA Eligibility

CDs with terms of 12 months or longer are eligible for Traditional and Roth IRA accounts.. IRA contribution limits and tax rules apply; consult a qualified tax advisor.

Identification Required

Two forms of valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport) and Social Security number required. All CDs must be opened in person at a South Jersey branch or by phone.

Early Withdrawal

Penalties apply for early withdrawal. The penalty amount varies by CD term. A banker will explain the exact penalty for your chosen term before you open.

Renewal at Maturity

At maturity, withdraw funds and interest, roll into a new CD, or transfer to another FNBA account. FNBA will notify you in advance of your CD maturity date.

When your CD reaches its maturity date, FNBA will notify you in advance. At that point, you have three options: withdraw your original deposit and all interest earned, roll your funds into a new CD at the current rate, or transfer them to another FNBA account. A banker can walk you through whichever option best fits your next goal.

No. Once a CD is opened, the deposit amount is fixed for the full term. If you would like to save more during your CD term, you can open an additional CD with a new deposit, or place extra funds in an FNBA Statement Savings account until your next term begins.
